Bringing Food to the Hungry (PB&J) - 5,041 Pounds (Way Over the Top)
By @ 6:54 AM :: 123 Views :: 0 Comments

It is truly amazing. Everyone couldn't imagine it to be true, including the helpers at 2nd Harvest of America. Those employees there thanked us afterwards. Thank you St. Paul families and friends! Your caring makes a huge difference to hungry children in eastern Wisconsin. The lady told us that 50,000 lbs. of food leave the building daily to feed those in poverty. The Word of God says "Let us do good to all." You have shown that wonderful giving spirit. The children have truly enjoyed the fun of bringing it in, and parents we know it is your gracious love that has made this possible. As Jesus ministered and fed the hungry so we have shown how Christians can help one another. Thank you so much for the financial effort each of you have put into this drive.
    Special thanks goes to our 8th grade group who assisted in so many ways, as well as Mrs. Brueggemann and all the other students who helped load-up the 5,000 pounds. The committee members were: Anna, Zoe, Ellie, Mi-chelle, Jacob, Ryan, Melissa, & Lauren. They had important jobs and kept up with the count, collecting, and en-couraging the classes. Thank you to Scheer Inc. (Jason & Rich) and Mr. Mercier for transporting the goods to America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin. They were loaded down so much that Rich's mud flaps were dragging. We are appreciative of Chris Bushman in the office who assisted with the payment of the chapel funds we had to receive for purchase and Mr. Mierow who made three trips to COSTCO to pick-up grape jelly. Thanks to our local businesses who are provid-ing the rewards and making the top three classes very happy. They are: Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and McDonalds. COSTCO added a gift of some 30 pounds, and Pick N Save furnished us with all the boxes. Our fourth graders helped assemble the boxes. We are very gracious to our pre-schoolers who greatly added to this cause. We thank Dr. Frusti for his support. Thanks to all the teachers for putting-up with this all during October. Finally, thanks to you students who showed so much excitement and assistance in helping us to grow in caring and shar-ing with others. Thanks again!
