 Dauna Werner, 3-PreK Minimize

Early childhood education specialist Dauna has nearly 20 years of teaching in Lutheran schools and public day care facilities.  She has taught Three Pre-Kindergarten at St. Paul for 14 years.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, both from Concordia University, Mequon, WI.  She has a particular interest in the importance of developing good parenting skills for early childhood parents.

Dauna enjoys sports and outdoor activities such as boating, volleyball and walking, and watching her children participate in their sports activities.  She also enjoys her music box and pitcher collections and listening to music.

“God has given me the gifts and talents to create a warm and loving Christ-filled environment where the children are nurtured spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and academically. This foundation will help the children in their life-long journey of learning and service to Jesus and others.”

 Karen Brueggemann, 4 PreK Minimize

A graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, IL, Karen has taught students in the Primary grades and Pre-Kindergarten classes for all of her 25 years as a teacher.  She has taught Four Pre-Kindergarten for 20 years.  Karen earned her Master’s degree from Concordia University, Mequon, WI in 2002.

Karen says she loves gardening, running, traveling and spending time with her family.

"The pre-kindergarten classroom is an extension of the educational process that begins and continues at home. My goals are to help children develop a love for Jesus, provide an atmosphere where children feel safe, secure and learn Christian values, and design a curriculum that will help each child grow at his or her own pace.”

 Gretchen Huesmann Minimize

Mrs. Gretchen Huesmann received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University, River Forest, IL. She has taught preschool in numerous Lutheran and public school in Colorado, Indiana, Washington, and Idaho before joining the staff at St. Paul.

Gretchen aslo enjoys leading women's bible studies, reading, writing, and camping with her family.

"I strive to share the love of Jesus with every child and family I meet. The preschool classroom provides an opportunity to nurture children in their faith, to enhance their educational and social development, and to prepare them for a successful journey of formal learning.”

 Sue-Lynn Scheer, All Day Kindergarten Minimize

For all of Sue-Lynn’s eleven years as a teacher, she has worked with kindergartners.  She strives to develop their reading skills and incorporates hands-on activities in each subject to help engage her young students in the learning process. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, Mequon, WI.

Sue-Lynn’s favorite pastimes are spending time with family, playing volleyball, walking, and biking.

“My  mission is to teach children about Jesus and to spread the love of God in all we say and do.  It is my goal to help parents bring up their children in a Christ-filled environment, and to provide opportunities for hands-on learning. I want each child to know that they are loved and are a child of God.”
